17. Melzena³ Fair (Martha Jane² McElwee, Charles¹) (#123) was born in Cass County, IN on November 13, 1863.⁽¹⁶⁹⁾ Melzena died on April 12, 1925 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN, at age 61.⁽¹⁷⁰⁾ She had been ill for the previous seven (7) years and had been bedfast for the previous two (2) weeks.

She died of Acute Intestinal Nephritis which she had for 2 months, the contributory cause was Arterio Sclerosis which she had for 5 years. Her body was interred in Memorial Park Cemetery on April 15, 1925 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN.⁽¹⁷¹⁾

She married Samuel R. Beamon on September 13, 1893 in Cass County, IN. (Samuel R. Beamon is #122.) Samuel was born on September 22, 1857 in Knox County, IN.⁽¹⁷²⁾ Samuel was the son of Austin Clark Beamon Sr and Sinca Robinson. Samuel died on February 29, 1932 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN, at age 74.⁽¹⁷³⁾ His body was interred at Memorial Park Cemetery on March 2, 1932 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN. Undertaker: H. W. In the 1900 Census, Samuel was listed as a head of household on June 2, 1900 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN.⁽¹⁷⁴⁾ In the 1910 Census, Samuel was listed as a head of household 1910 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN.⁽¹⁷⁵⁾ He resided in Kokomo, Howard County, IN on August 10, 1916.⁽¹⁷⁶⁾ All three individuals are listed as living in Kokomo, Howard County, IN, however, there is no statement of address or indication that they are living at the same address.

Samuel was employed at a local concern as a Carpenter on August 10, 1916. In the 1920 Census, Samuel was listed as a head of household on January 13, 1920 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN.⁽¹⁷⁷⁾ He resided 1011 East Monroe Street, in Kokomo, Howard County, IN on April 12, 1925.⁽¹⁷⁸⁾

Melzena, as Samuel R. Beamon's wife, resided with him in Kokomo, Howard County, IN on August 10, 1916.⁽¹⁷⁹⁾ All three individuals are listed as living in Kokomo, Howard County, IN, however, there is no statement of address or indication that they are living at the same address.

Melzena, as the mother of the bride, attended Anna Edith Beamon and Albert Clinton Berry's wedding on August 13, 1916 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN.⁽¹⁸⁰⁾ Melzena signed the Application for Marriage License since Anna was below the age of 21.

She resided in Kokomo, Howard County, IN on June 13, 1923. Melzena, as Samuel R. Beamon's wife, resided with him 1011 East Monroe Street, in Kokomo, Howard County, IN on April 12, 1925.⁽¹⁸¹⁾ Her funeral was held on April 15, 1925 in Kokomo, Howard County, IN.⁽¹⁸²⁾ She had been a devout member of the Main Street Church for 40 years preceeding her death.
