George W.³ Small (Jesse², George¹) was born in KY about 1838.⁽¹⁴³⁷⁾ George died on January 26, 1865 in Jeffersonville, Twiggs County, GA, at age 26.⁽¹⁴³⁸⁾ His body was interred in the Archibald Small Cemetery missing stone after January 26, 1865 in Ekin, Tipton Co, IN.⁽¹⁴³⁹⁾ The gravestone was said to read: "George W. Small, Co. C, Regt. L.V., d. Jan. 26, 1865, aged 27y." It was missing in 1994.

He married Elizabeth A. Coats on February 23, 1860 in Tipton County, IN.⁽¹⁴⁴⁰⁾ The following individual is also linked to this event: Eldred S. Goar (judge). Elizabeth was born on February 22, 1844 in Hamilton County, IN.⁽¹⁴⁴¹⁾ Elizabeth was the daughter of William Coats and Mahala Fifer.
