Merritt Henry⁵ Small (William Edward⁴, George W.³, Jesse², George¹) was born in Ekin, Hamilton County, IN ca July 1886.⁽⁶⁰⁸⁵⁾ Merritt died on February 19, 1951 in Tipton, Tipton County, IN, at age 64.⁽⁶⁰⁸⁶⁾ At the time of his death he had nine grandchildren. His body was interred in the East Union Cemetery Section 3, Row 1, Lot 8 after February 19, 1951 in East Union, Hamilton Co, IN.⁽⁶⁰⁸⁷⁾ The gravestone reads: "Merritt Small, 1886-1951"
